Comparable data to improve the efficiency of public spending
WikiControl is an open infrastructure that transforms scattered public data in comparable information on how public resources are managed of the municipalities.

Every year, public administrations manage billions of euros in essential services such as security, education, sanitation, transportation, and social services. However, although much of this data is publicly available, in practice it remains difficult to compare, analyze, or use to evaluate the efficiency of public management.
WikiControl was created to solve this problem.
Our goal is to build an open data infrastructure that allows us to answer basic questions about public management:
- How much does a public service cost in different municipalities?
- How does it compare to similar municipalities?
- What results does that spending produce?
By transforming scattered data into structured and comparable information, WikiControl provides journalists, researchers, administrations and citizens with tools to better understand the use of public resources and improve decision-making.
What we do
- Integrates public data on budgets and procurement
- Standardizes information from multiple sources
- Allows comparison of municipalities using homogeneous criteria
- Facilitates analysis of the efficiency of public spending
Our Goal
To contribute to improving the management of public money through useful transparency, comparative analysis and open access to data.
